Utah Infrastructure Agency (UIA)

Utah Infrastructure Agency (UIA) is a political subdivision of the state of Utah and was created in June of 2010 by nine Utah cities. The UIA network is connected to the Utah Telecommunications Open Infrastructure Agency (UTOPIA) fiber optic network pursuant to an Indefeasible Right of Use Agreement between UIA and UTOPIA, which grants UIA access to certain facilities of and capacity in the UTOPIA network. The UTOPIA network provides telecommunications services, support and management services as well as crucial infrastructure for the UIA network. The synergy provided by UIA’s partnership with UTOPIA allows both organizations to provide their citizens a state-of-the-art broadband network. The project is facilitating economic development throughout UTOPIA member cities.
