General Job Description:
The Accounts Receivable Technician’s primary responsibility is to support UTOPIA/UIA with all aspects of customer billing and receipt of customer payments. This position requires a high-quality level of interaction and coordination with staff and all customers. They ensure accuracy and timeliness of all customer billing transactions. They provide customers the best possible service, projecting a professional, business-like, and friendly demeanor.

The Accounts Receivable Technician will report directly to the Controller.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a High School Diploma
- Minimum 3 years of job-related experience OR an equivalent combination of job-related education/experience
- Post High School education in basic accounting or related field is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Set up and manage changes to customer accounts
- Prepare and distribute accurate monthly billing to lease customers and Internet Service Providers
- Process and apply cash receipts in a timely manner
- Prepare bank deposit
- Process credits to customer accounts when necessary
- Generate and monitor Accounts Receivable Aged Trial Balance
- Engage proactively with other departments to resolve any customer billing issues
- Identify and communicate with supervisor any processes that can be streamlined
- Work closely with Controller and other UTOPIA staff to manage suspensions and collections efforts
- Assist with filing and releasing security interests for UIA Contract Utility Enhancement Agreements
- Prepare requests for draws from bond trust accounts
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable Technician in delegating work to Administrative Assistant
- Notarize documents as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment:
Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
