Social Media Coordinator & Content Writer

General Job Description:

This position is an entry-level position that will assist the marketing team in the implementation of all marketing activities, specifically handling all social media accounts and content writing. You will be expected to assist in the development of social media campaigns and strategies, as well as writing high quality content.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or similar field
  • 1-2 years performing marketing support functions within a corporate organization
  • Proven record of excellent writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio
  • Understanding of customer service and ability to provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers and guests
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn and work independently with minimal direction, while also functioning and contributing as part of the team
  • Strong time management skills
  • Willingness to learn and stay abreast of new marketing tools and trends
  • Understanding the importance of brand position and voice in all communications

Job Description:

  • Maintain a timely response rate to all company social media posts, ads, email requests, and company reviews with brand consistency and customer focused responses
  • Learn basic functionality of digital marketing tools to include, but not limited to, Facebook Business Manager, Social Studios, Analytics, and our internal CRM system
  • Work with associated stakeholders to ensure knowledge is up to date on events and stay up to date on company information as it relates to the public
  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers and team members
  • Work with the marketing team on various marketing related projects
  • Effectively execute on strategy and goals; assist with building and supporting all digital campaigns across search, display, video, ad networks, social media and email
  • Assist with maintaining websites of all brands to ensure they reflect the most up-to-date and accurate information
  • Produce well-researched content for publication online and in print
  • Develop related content for multiple platforms, such as websites, email marketing, product descriptions, videos, press releases, and blogs
  • Provide technical edits to marketing copy ensuring accurate and consistent brand voice
  • Provide project support to include, but not limited to, Facebook live videos, editorial, live events, creations of short videos, blogs, social media posts, and guest facing communications
  • Perform other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned
  • Meet all deadlines as set by management

  • Maintain a flexible/can do attitude and schedule

Desired Skills & Expertise:

  • Event planning experience
  • Prior public relations knowledge
  • Interest or experience in city government
