What Sets UTOPIA Fiber’s Internet Service Providers Apart

UTOPIA Fiber is proud to be an open-access, municipal broadband network. However, due to the fact that we are an inter-local governmental agency, we do not (and cannot) provide internet services. Instead, we provide the fiber infrastructure and allow customers to choose from a variety of net-neutral internet service providers on our network. This means our customers can get a lightning-fast fiber optic connection AND the freedom to pick an ISP with the services they want.

Currently, there are 11 residential ISPs on UTOPIA Fiber’s network. We also have over 25 business providers. To learn more about our business options, visit our business page or give our Business Department a call at 801-613-3836.

We know it can be hard to decide between all of our excellent providers. To make your decision easier, we contacted each of our ISPs and asked them to share what they want our customers to know about their service. Here are their answers:

Beehive Broadband

  • For over 50 years Beehive Broadband has been providing internet service to customers across Utah and Nevada.

  • Brigham.net started as an ISP in 1995.

  • Brigham.net’s network is monitored 24/7/365.

CentraCom

  • CentraCom is a communication service provider with the 2nd largest fiber optic network in Utah providing Internet Service, Cable TV, and Phone Service. 
  • CentraCom was founded in 1903 as the first independent rural telephone company in Fairview, Utah.
  • Since their founding over 117 years ago as a rural telephone company, they have invested millions of dollars in expanding their network and enhancing its reliability.

Fibernet

  • Fibernet opened their doors in 1994. They have since expanded their suite of services to include hosting, managed IT solutions, design services, and colocation in their state-of-the-art data center facility.
  • Since their beginning over two decades ago, Fibernet has worked to build a reliable network of SaaS Management, Iaas Services, Hosting, Colocation, and Cyber Security services.
  • Their data center is a SOC 1 Type II certified, PCI compliant facility in a low risk natural disaster zone with 24/7 on-site security, 10 tier 1 fiber providers, and monitored access controls.
  • Fibernet is a local Utah business that is actively involved in their community. They sponsor or support 21 local organizations and initiatives, including the United Way of Utah, Habitat for Humanity, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and the Summit County Search and Rescue.

InfoWest

  • InfoWest is a Utah founded and based ISP with 79 employees. They are headquartered in St. George, Utah.

  • Intellipop is a locally owned ISP headquartered in Payson, UT with roots in Murray and West Valley City.

  • Sumo started as an internet service provider on the UTOPIA Fiber network in early 2011.

XMission

  • XMission has been a UTOPIA partner since the network’s launch in 2005. As Utah’s first internet service provider, XMission has pioneered Internet solutions and set the standard for top-notch customer service.
  • XMission discloses all prices, lease fees, and equipment charges up-front, so you won’t experience any unexpected, unpleasant adjustments later.

  • Veracity combines different products and capabilities to create a custom telecom solution for each client. Veracity Networks offers internet speeds of 250 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps, and residential phone services for only $9.99/month with free unlimited long distance with standard VoIP features.
  • Customer service is best reached by phone. Their number is 801-691-5800, opt 2 for Billing and opt 3 for Technical Support. Billing hours are 8am to 6pm, M-F. Technical Support is available from 8am to 8pm, M-F, and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays. They can also be reached by email at support@veracitynetworks.com.

Voonami

  • Founded in 2006, Voonami has been offering Internet Service and technical support for over a decade.
  • Voonami offers 24/7/365 technical support. They staff their 24/7 Network Operations Center to ensure that customers have support whenever they need it.
  • They have no ​data caps and offer static IP addresses available upon request at no additional charge.
  • Voonami offers month-to-month agreements for all residential internet customers.
  • Voonami runs and operates their own extensive Business Class network through their data centers.

If at any point you are unhappy with your ISP, UTOPIA Fiber gives you the freedom to switch to another provider. This process is quick and painless and is usually complete within one business day. Just keep in mind, each time you switch providers, you could be subject to a $35 provider change fee.
