Murray, UTAH (December 7, 2023) – UTOPIA Fiber announced today the successful completion of its fiber-to-the-home build in the City of Syracuse, Utah, marking this as the fourth completed build in 2023. The $23.5 million project, which began construction on November 30, 2021, has now concluded with the delivery of ultra-high-speed broadband to every residential and business address in the city.

UTOPIA Fiber celebrates another major milestone by welcoming Syracuse as the 17th city in its network, boasting the fastest residential and business internet speeds available in the United States. The first homes were seamlessly connected to the lit fiber network on September 6, 2022, and the entire project, including 12,324 residential addresses, was completed on September 12, 2023. As of the end of November 2023, UTOPIA Fiber already has a 15.61% subscriber rate.

Since 2009, the Syracuse City project—like all other UTOPIA Fiber projects—has been funded and grown solely through subscriber revenue. The completion of this project further extends UTOPIA Fiber’s reach, providing residents with access to speeds up to 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps) and 100 Gbps for businesses, currently the fastest speeds offered in the United States.
