Interview With A Customer Service Representative

You know what time it is! It’s time to meet another one of the incredible employees at UTOPIA Fiber! This month we are talking with Customer Service Representative Dallin Blakeley to get the insider scoop on what it’s like working in the customer service department at UTOPIA Fiber.

What’s your name, and position, and how long have you been at UTOPIA Fiber?
My name is Dallin Blakeley, I’m a customer service rep and I’ve been with UTOPIA Fiber for almost three years.

What do you do as the Customer Service Rep at UTOPIA Fiber?
I handle inbound and outbound calls, scheduling installations, and helping customers pay their bills. Just anything that a customer needs help with I assist them.

What does a typical workday look like for you? 
So I clock into the phone system and start taking calls. When a customer has any specific questions, I try my best to answer them, and if I’m not able to assist them, then their internet service provider usually steps in to help. 

What’s the most common question you get as a customer service rep?
How much is the internet? And is it available in my location?

What inspired you to go into Customer Service at UTOPIA Fiber?
I love UTOPIA Fiber. I had it at my own place before I started working here, so I figured it was a pretty cool job opportunity to work here. 

What do you think is the biggest obstacle your team faces?
The biggest obstacle is really just any time there’s an outage. It can be really hard to navigate but we try our best to help the customer, even when there’s not a whole lot we can do. Mainly we just try to get them up and running, and if we can’t do that then we schedule someone to go out there and fix it if possible. 

What’s your favorite thing about working at UTOPIA Fiber?
Honestly, the team. Everyone’s just super nice, we all get along, we like to joke around, and it’s just super fun.

What’s been the funniest memory you’ve made at UTOPIA Fiber so far? 
Probably just anytime someone gets scared of the office. We always do pranks and try to scare each other. My favorite one is probably when Tona snuck up behind me while I was up front. She just lightly tapped my shoulder and it scared me so bad I jumped out of my seat.

What do you wish every customer knew about UTOPIA Fiber?
That we actually care about the customer service we provide. We wanna make sure you have the best internet and speeds possible.

What kind of hobbies do you like to do outside of work? 
I like playing on my computer and building costumes and movie props. My favorite cosplay that I’ve made so far has been my Batman one, I made it completely from scratch.
