This Summer delivered some major reveals, and now Gamescom 2026 is piling on even more excitement with new trailers and surprise announcements. Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look
The release of Grand Theft Auto VI is getting closer! Rockstar confirmed a November 19, 2026 release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The latest Extended Look showcases Jason, Lucia, Vice City, and plenty of new gameplay footage. With launch now just months away, GTA 6 is shaping up to be one of gaming’s biggest releases of the year.
The Witcher 3 Is Getting a Major Remaster
One of the biggest surprises from Gamescom 2026 is the return of Geralt. CD Projekt Red announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, launching September 29 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. The remaster includes visual improvements, gameplay enhancements, an expanded photo mode, and the game’s existing expansions. Most importantly, current owners of the game will receive the upgrade for free!
And there’s more Witcher news coming. CD Projekt Red also showed footage from The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, a new expansion scheduled for 2027. The Witcher 3 remains one of gaming’s most celebrated RPGs, so a free current-generation upgrade could bring millions of players back to the Continent.
Final Fantasy VII: Revelation Gets a New Look
Square Enix brought Final Fantasy VII: Revelation to Gamescom with a new trailer showing more of the game’s story and combat. The game is the concluding chapter of the Final Fantasy VII Remake project and is currently scheduled for spring 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 1/2. The latest footage puts a major emphasis on the enormous Weapons that Cloud and the rest of the party will have to face.
Gears of War: E-Day Shows Its Teeth
Xbox showcased new footage from Gears of War: E-Day at Gamescom. The prequel is set during Emergence Day, and the latest cinematic footage details the story and introduces the game’s villain. Microsoft previously featured the title at the June Xbox Games Showcase alongside Fable, Halo: Campaign Evolved, Persona 6, and Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember.

Exodus – revealed new footage and a new character named Salt.
Rainbow Six Tactics – was announced for 2027.

The Future Games Show at Gamescom showcased more than 40 Xbox and PC titles, including Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Moonlighter 2, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Serious Sam: Shatterverse.
