2020 is off to a great start at UTOPIA Fiber! This past month, UTOPIA Fiber announced an agreement with a new city, completed 3 footprints, and posted our much-requested ISP reviews on our website. Here is a breakdown of our progress this month:

  • UTOPIA Fiber announced an agreement with West Point City to execute a Fiber-to-the-Home project that will ensure all residents and businesses will have access to UTOPIA Fiber services by the end of 2020. You can find more information about this project in our press release and two articles about the project that ran in Utah Business and Broadband Communities. West Point residents: check out our build-out timeline and availability map to see when you can sign up for service.
  • We completed phase 3 of PA017, connecting ~80 addresses in Payson to the fastest internet speeds in the nation. Payson residents: sign up here.
  • We made major progress in Orem this month, completing OR013 and OR017. Orem City residents: check out our availability map, build-out timelines, and information on how to sign up for services. You can also check out the Daily Herald coverage about the build-out schedule in Orem here.
  • Our Internet Service Provider reviews are now posted on our website here. This will be an excellent resource for those of you who are excited to sign up for UTOPIA Fiber but are unsure which service provider to go with. Now you can do your own research on each provider, all in one convenient location.
  • Due to construction delays in Morgan, Phase 2 of MR001 was delayed several weeks. We apologize for the inconvenience and have been working to keep Morgan residents updated as things progress. Everything is still on track to be complete in Morgan by the end of 1st Quarter 2020.
  • Earlier this month, our Executive Director, Roger Timmerman and Chief Marketing Officer, Kim McKinley sat down with EDCUtah to discuss our role in Utah’s economic development. Read the full interview here.
  • Our Chief Marketing Officer, Kim McKinley, spoke with Muni Networks for their podcast about our partnership with Idaho Falls Power and Fiber. You can listen to the podcast here.
