Employee Spotlight: Daniele Turpin

May 2nd, 2016

DanieleTurpinDaniele Turpin is another incredible employee here at UTOPIA. Daniele has been with us since September 2015 as a GIS Technician where she works on the mapping components of UTOPIA’s network.  She first heard about UTOPIA through GIS networking magazine, SLUG and decided to join our team.

After only being here for less than a year, Daniele is surprised at how much UTOPIA has grown in that time, as well as how much she has learned. “The most challenging part about working at UTOPIA is understanding the level of networking and technology we have here,” she explains. “I am always amazed by the information our Director of Strategic Planning, Jamie Brotherton has about this industry in his head. He’s like a walking, talking UTOPIA Wikipedia!”

Although this industry can be hard to understand, Daniele enjoys being part of the UTOPIA family. “I love what I do! I love working with maps and construction and I especially love our team.” Daniele is very happy about the sense of family the other staff members have for each other. “The quality of service here is amazing and the people here make that happen.”

When Daniele isn’t mapping out UTOPIA’s network, she spends her time with her 7-year-old son, Ascher. They enjoy exploring the outdoors and learning about Earth science. She was born and raised in Salt Lake and graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors Degree in Geography and a GIS Certification. Daniele was raised with Italian traditions stemming from her full blooded Italian mother and loves her heritage. She also loves children, sports and music.

Daniele works hard at UTOPIA everyday and makes all of our lives easier with the great job she does. We don’t know what we would do without her. Thank you Daniele!
