Employee Spotlight: Jessica Rivera
June 1st, 2016
Jessica Rivera is our phenomenal Team Lead over our Customer Service Department. She started working here at UTOPIA as a Customer Service Representative in October 2014 and was promoted about 9 months ago due to her hard work. As a Team Lead, Jessica oversees the CSR team and keeps our customers happy. She faces a lot of challenges with her day-to-day tasks, but always handles everything with a professional attitude. “We honestly, at the end of the day, really do value our customers,” she states. “Since we are a smaller company, we try to go above and beyond for each and every one of them so they have a more personal experience with us.”
Jessica works here because she believes in the concept of what UTOPIA is. She explains, “as a consumer myself, I see our prices and what we have to offer. Compared to many other places, they can’t come close to offering what we have.” Over the next 5 years, Jessica believes that UTOPIA’s original vision of providing fiber optic connectivity to its member cities will be realized.
Jessica is surprised at the turn around here; surprised that there is none. “Everyone truly does believe in this company and have made this their life careers,” she says. “They are all so willing to help everyone out to benefit the company.” Although it is hard work, the thing Jessica loves most is the people. “We are all just like one big family and like a family, we are all there for each other every day.” She has met a wide range of people here from so many different backgrounds and has fun consistently getting to know them.
When Jessica isn’t working, she is at home taking care of her adorable family and planning her wedding that takes place in August. She grew up on a military base in Virginia with her twin sister, Jerrica and two older brothers. She recently rescued a cross-eyed cat and sometimes worries that he has no idea what she looks like.
Jessica is outgoing, friendly and always loves to see everyone laughing and having a good time. We love having her here, even if she doesn’t put cheese on her pizza.
