1. God of War: Ragnarok

This God of War (2018) sequel has been teased for over a year now but is set to be released on the next-gen console PlayStation 5 at some point in 2021. This third-person action-adventure game is being developed by Santa Monica Studio and will be published by Sony Interactive.

2. Halo Infinite

After a delay in release, the most recent addition to the prolific Halo series will be released sometime in the fall of 2021. This game will be running on a new gaming engine known as Slipspace. Here’s hoping that Halo Infinite will be the Halo comeback we’ve all been waiting for.

3. Returnal

Developed by Housemarque, Returnal is set to be the first major PS5 exclusive of 2021. This game is rumored to be a story-driven, third-person science fiction horror game and will be released in March by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

4. Gotham Knights

This action role-playing game from WB Games Montreal is set to release later this year. After being rumored for months, Gotham Knights was unveiled during DC FanDome in August 2020. Gotham Knights can be played solo or as a two-player online cooperative experience.

5. Horizon Forbidden West

This sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn (2017) is set to drop in the second half of 2021 for the PlayStation 5. Horizon Forbidden West is an action role-playing game set in a post-apocalyptic San Francisco and is being developed by Guerrilla Games.

6. Twelve Minutes

Twelve Minutes is a narrative-driven thriller that was developed by Luis Antonio and follows an anonymous player who is stuck in an infinite time loop facing an intruder. It is set to be released sometime in 2021 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

7. Far Cry 6

Far Cry is back again with a 6th installment of the popular first-person shooter game from developer Ubisoft Toronto. According to a Microsoft Store listing, Far Cry 6 will launch on May 25, 2021.

8. Resident Evil 8: Village

The sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is the newest addition to this well-loved survival-horror franchise. This storyline is set a few years after the events of the previous game and is set to be released in May.

 9. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Insomniac Games is back with another Ratchet and Clank adventure! This third-person shooter game is said to be a canonical continuation of Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus (2013) and will be released sometime in 2021.

10. Little Nightmares 2 

Little Nightmares is getting a spooky sequel! This puzzle-platformer horror game is set to be released in February for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
